California King Bed: For Tall Royals and Nobles?

California king beds were designed with the taller sleeper in mind and are 12 inches wider than a Queen-size bed and 4 inches longer. (Queens measures 76 inches wide and 80 inches long) The overall dimensions of the California King bed are: 72inches wide by 84 inches long, four inches narrower and longer than a regular king-size bed. This bed allows for 36 inches of width per person. The mattress is wide enough for two people to sleep comfortably even if the other person can’t sleep and is much shorter. Like its cousin, the Eastern King, the California King bed set comes with one mattress and two half-wide box springs, which are designed for easier handling when moving. In spite of the design, which is meant to accommodate moving, the very large mattress can be cumbersome, as it often cannot fit up stairs, through narrow hallways, or in small bedrooms. It is also very important to take note of the exact measurements of your new California King bed before buying bedding as some manufacturers vary dimensions by a few inches. This may take a little extra time and effort, but in the long run, it would require more of the same to buy linens and such and then have to return to the store and exchange them (if you even can). Queen size mattresses may be too short for the taller among us and the California King Bed is the perfect choice for large adults, six foot tall or more, who desire a lot of room for spreading out. The California King is ideal for family time on the bed with small children and pets with mattress privileges. All are welcome and can also fit! So what are you waiting for? Your learning center is awesome with info everyone needs. I have learned from you! One exception...on this page the sizing for Queen is incorrect, probably just a typo but for the novice, confusing. Queen is 60X80 not 76X80 ( that\'s an eastern king).
