This is a true single-ply set. "Ply" refers to the number of threads twisted together when a fabric is made. By twising two threads together, mills can double the thread count of a fabric. By twisting three fibers together, they can triple it and so on. Some 1000TC sets of sheets are actually 330TC 3-ply or 250TC 4-ply. Sheets are easier to make this way, so be weary of merchants who offer high ply sheets or simply do not list the ply. The higher the ply, the heavier and thicker a fabric will be. The chance of pills forming (little balls) is increased dramatically as well. 500TC is the highest thread count that a single-ply fabric can be woven. Every sheet set above 500 thread count is atleast a 2-ply set. So because this set is the highest thread count possible in the lowest ply, it is a true creme de la creme to a linen connoisseur.

Pima cotton was a new experience for me and one that I frankly have not been nearly as impressed as I thought that I was going to be. I had read a lot of reviews both on this website and on others about pima cotton and how it was supposed to be more luxurious and softer than other choices but I would rather have my high threadcount Egyptian cotton sheet sets anyday because they are the ones that are perfect for me. I would not say that these are the worst sheets that I have slept on and would admit that they are far from being the worst that I have ever felt. I would highly recommend in the end that you choose your sheets based on your own thoughts and beliefs instead of listening to others. If you find something that you love then you should stick to that and not change what you are looking for. If you do not have a favorite then by all means you might want to check out these because as I understand it many people find these to be their personal favorites so you could be one of them as well.

Pima cotton sheets are perfect for my daughter who has a sensory processing disorder. I did not know why she was not sleeping well until she finally got her diagnosis. This was a hard thing to accept especially when the doctor had few suggestions aside from medication to finally get her to sleep. I was not wanting to put my child on sleep medication but I was getting so frustrated and tired from being up with her all of the time. Finally after some searching and reading I decided to look for pima cotton sheets because others had success. I am so glad that I found these because she actually sleeps better now than she did even as an infant.

As the mom to a son with autism one thing that I am constantly reminded of is how difficult everything is for him. I never understood why he was not sleeping at night since he appeared to be tired all day long. It was not until I realized that it was the sensation of the sheets that he hated and didn't want to touch him that I knew that I had to make some changes. I have purchased over thirty different sheet sets trying to find something that he is comfortable with. I was never successful until I found these. He loves them and he actually started sleeping through the night after he had them on his bed. I am so thankful that I found this product as it has really helped our family.
